This is my Second blog post. In this I would like to share about my interview experience and how to crack any interview easily. Studying engineering and getting a job is myth. But it is not true the one who utilizes the time properly with technologies and learn some new things every day will definitely get a job. Around 1.5 million engineering graduates are passing out every year in India, from that only 7% of the engineers are employable, left out are not eligible for job. The major reasons are
1) Due to huge population the number of students who are not getting job is high.
2) Lack of proper infrastructure and qualified faculty members in many engineering colleges.
3) In India 80% of the company are service based which lacks adequate infrastructure.
After completing higher secondary schooling many of them wish to pursue engineering or doctor. Since for doctor profession management fees is very much high so they prefer engineering. Some of them are joining engineering due to forcement of parents. Generally our parents have a practice of saying that if you study well in 12th you can enjoy 4 years of college and rest of your life but the truth is reverse of that. Remember one thing at any stage of life if you work hard you can achieve something. With that mindset students are enjoying namely south indian students. They will only realize when 1000+ students will attend off campus and we are one among them. From the first year onwards we have to be in a mindset to get placed in a well reputed company. The main thing you have to do is focus on what you are lagging in, it's very important in every part of your life. Always do something don't be idle, make yourself indulge in some activity it will help at some point of time. If you are not getting a job definitely the mistake is yours, "Don't blame engineering".
Coming to company's point of, mainly what they are looking for? a enormous amount of talent? definitely not if they want only talent they need to select only IIT students. They need employees who has a logical thinking capability and how to face any situation if the desired output does not come. "They are not expecting you to learn everything but to become expert in the thing which you have learned". They will see that if they can mould you and feel comfortable with you. "They are not expecting you to say all the questions right, But to say a perfect answer for a question which you know right".They are mainly checking the confidence level of a candidate, if you are saying something be bold and always be with your side in what you are saying. Most of the companies also looking for your communication skills to tackle their clients, so be prepare of it. The main thing the companies are expecting is Truthfulness, Don't ever say lie to the HR they will easily identify it and next question will be shoot up from your lie. Put your Resume in a format that you have inside in the HR room for 45 mins solid, add many information about you to speak over there.
I would like to share my interview experience both negative and positive result. Every companies first round will definitely be aptitude round to sort out the candidates, be good at aptitude. Next in some companies they will conduct the group discussion, speak with good voice and eye contact you can easily clear that round. Next coming to technical HR my kind advice don't eat anything before you are entering into the room just drink a glass of water. Then note down how many HR's are there in your panel, Give a firm handshake while entering and take a few copies of your resume and give it to all the HR's. If it is a one-to-one HR then there is no need of this. Most of the HR's will definitely say "We donno who are you, can you give a intro about yourself" Just prepare your self-intro like point by point so that you can talk in a flow without any interruption, that will give a good first impression about you. Then they will definitely ask your weakness, don't say that you don't have any weaknesses, say something which you are overcoming by now. In technical, only answer the question if you know it perfectly otherwise say donno there is no mistake in that. Try to have a little bit smile while you are talking, and a perfect eye contact to the person who you are speaking to. Note down few points about the company and why you are joining it. Try to make the conversation more causal like how you talk to your friend. Be more specific in what you are saying and make a same tone of voice from starting till the end. Don't ever stop until the HR says continue with your points make sure you are making them to ask more questions. "The more time you are inside the room the more chance for you to get placed in that company".
Don't get frustrated when you not got selected in the company, Just continue doing the thing what you like the most. The main thing is you have to "Analyze" your mistakes what you have made and try to overcome it. Getting placed is like watching the cinema, some will watch first day first show, some will watch on second day, some will watch in a week, but anyhow you will definitely watch at least in DVD. You will definitely get a job, just motivate yourself and have the faith in you, you will definitely make it one day.
ALL THE BEST!! BEST OF LUCK!!
